Santiago City, Isabela, is a vibrant city in the Philippines with a rich cultural heritage, diverse population, and growing tourism industry. It is led by Mayor Alyssa Sheena T. Dy and a council of ten members. It’s part of Isabela’s 4th legislative district, currently represented by Joseph S. Tan.
The majority of the city’s population speaks Tagalog and Ilocano, and English is generally understood, particularly in the business community and in schools as the medium of instruction. The city hosts several festivals and events throughout the year that showcase its rich cultural heritage, including the Balamban Dance Festival, Pattaradday Festival, and the Feast of Saint James.
The city serves as a gateway to the plains of Cagayan Valley and is well-connected with several major roads and bus terminals. There’s also an Integrated Transport Terminal and Commercial Complex for public transportation, and the city even has taxis, which is a first for the region.

The city is also known for being a jump-off point for tourists heading to northeastern Luzon, with nearby attractions including the Quirino Province, Magat Dam in Isabela, Banaue Rice Terraces in Cordillera, and white sand beaches in Aurora Province facing the Pacific Ocean.
